Ernie was such a wonderful person, and, oh the memories. When my hubby Harry first took me to his home to meet his family and the smell of homemade cinnamon bread filled my head, I knew it was going to be a long friendship, and that it was! From the WWF weekends to the after Christmas dinner nights when him and Dot would bring their own bread for ham sandwiches. For some reason they liked the ham, aka, drunken piggie, hehe. The driveway parties Ernie and Harry always had with the neighbors, all firemen by the way, and called Dot and me to bring home food, cause we worked together at a food place. The morning after a snowstorm we had to dig the doors to their house out, so they could open them, and then listen to Ernie trying to figure out why the wind blew the snowdrifts on his house and left no snow in ours at all. The jokes, the laughter, the parties, and showing up after a wedding at 2 in the morning, his brother p utting h is butt through our living room window cause they were all loaded. Talking on our CB radios and fighting fires together. We had a huge Lincoln, and when the whistle blew, Harry and I sat in the middle of the street and waited for the other 5 guys, including Ernie, to pile in and go to the firehouse, we always had the first truck, the DuPont Ave crew. Thanks for the unbelievable years of friendship, always being there when you were needed, the love and laughter we shared with all our families, including all the extended families, especially the kids, and, the couch butt fights! We are so gonna miss you Ernie, hug Harry for me, love you💔
